One of the Christmas presents I got in my stocking this year was The Seaweed Bath Co. Wildly Natural Seaweed Powder Bath. I was so excited because I love natural bath products, and I’ve heard seaweed has amazing healing properties. I finally got around to trying it today. I ran a hot bath, lit candles and grabbed a good book to read while I soaked.
I put in four scoops of the seaweed and I pushed it around with my hand to make it dissolve, but every time I would do that it would always end up settling at the top in clumps, even though the label said it should dissolve and turn the water brown. I soaked for about twenty minutes, and I could feel the Hawaiian Kukui oil moisturizing my skin, which gets super dry in the winter. My skin felt slimy and oily to the touch, which was a refreshing change from the scaly roughness I usually feel at this time of year.
The kind I got was unscented, aside from a sort of nutty, earthy aroma. The texture was more like earth than actual seaweed, but I could definitely feel properties of the seaweed working on my skin.
When I got out of the bath, my skin felt regenerated and smooth, which was probably also a result of the hot water and steam in addition to the seaweed. I loved that the powder helped get rid of dead skin cells and let the smooth, healthy skin shine through.
The only thing I didn’t like about the powder was that after I got out of the bath the seaweed stuck to my skin and the bottom of the bathtub and needed to be scrubbed with soap and a loofa to be removed. I guess that’s a sacrifice I’ll have to make if I want to use this lovely potion again and have smooth, healthy skin and a relaxing bathing experience! If you’re looking for an all natural product that will regenerate your skin cells without irritating sensitive skin with harsh aromas and dyes, then I would definitely recommend this powder bath.
