Antigua Travel Series: Kimono in the Caribbean

Tonight’s outfit is inspired by both the gorgeous Caribbean breezes I’ve recently had the pleasure of enjoying as well as Jack Sparrow the pirate. Sound weird? Well let me explain!

When the weather’s warm and breezy, I love wearing things that hang loose and flowy so that they can blow with the wind and create a lovely, ethereal look. I decided to wear my long, slitted black maxi skirt and a floral, translucent kimono  because I knew they would hang off my body in just the right way to be swept up by the soft breeze coming from the ocean.

As for the part of my outfit that was inspired by the Pirates of the Caribbean: the necklace I’m wearing always reminds me of the eccentric and intricate jewelry Johnny Depp wears in the movie. I love its shabby, worn look and the fact that it mixes all different sorts of jewels and metals – I think it makes for such a vintage, bohemian look.

I also love this ruched crop top I just bought – it’s so tight and fitted but also breathable and comfortable!

This outfit is a super fun one to wear because of how loose and flowy it is. It’s also awesome that I get to feel like a boho pirate in it – who wouldn’t love that feeling?!
