What I Wore Wednesday: Creamsicles and cornfields

IMG_0518Taking a day trip to the country is always such a joy. One of my favourite things to do is cruise along the highway on a beautiful day with the windows down and the sun shining down on my legs, stopping at the makeshift markets on the side of the road to buy fresh corn and veggies.

Today I stopped in Pickering on the way to my grandmother’s house in Oshawa, and I just had to take some photos in this amazing corn field! It looked so green and juicy and it created the perfect colour contrast with my outfit.

I bought this top on sale at Free People, and one of the reasons I loved it so much was because its colour and fabric reminded me of a cardigan I had when I was little! Its waffle material and creamsicle-orange hue drew me to it immediately, comforting me with its nostalgic feel. It’s funny how clothes and inanimate objects can bring so many lovely memories rushing back!

I also love this top’s flowy shape and intricate neckline, it feels so retro and inherently feminine. Because of all that’s going on with this top, I usually pair it with simple bottoms like these vintage jean shorts from Aritzia.

I had so much fun frolicking in the cornfields! Sometimes I think I’m truly a country girl at heart.

What do you like to do to get out of the city? Let me know in the comments below!
